For two weeks, you’ll be fully immersed in the culture of Puerto Rico as you study abroad in San Juan.

Although you’ll be based in San Juan, you’ll travel all over the island-meeting with community and professional leaders, volunteering for more than 30 hours for local organizations on the front line of community development and exploring the country and culture through field trips and community events.

You’ll get a firsthand look at land rights, environmental justice, Puerto Rico-U.S. relations, social change, democratic citizenship, leadership and international development.

You’ll attend the San Sebastian festival, a famous street festival that includes a parade, music, dancing, drinks and food. You’ll also visit the famed island of Culebra, home to one of the oldest bird sanctuaries in the U.S., and hike through El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.
