Professional & Liberal Arts Balance

A class occuring outsideSusquehanna University is a liberal arts institution that's anything but traditional. At Susquehanna, you'll reap all the benefits of a liberal arts education: the ability to think critically, express yourself clearly and make enlightened connections across disciplines. Just as important, we encourage you to connect what you are learning to what's going on in the wider world — culturally, professionally and intellectually.

Susquehanna offers strong programs in the arts and sciences complemented by equally strong professional programs in areas like business, music and communications. The flexibility and breadth of the Susquehanna curriculum truly delivers the best of both worlds.

  • Keep your options open. If you are undecided on a major, you can take courses from a range of disciplines before focusing your academic direction. Guidance from faculty, staff and fellow students could also help you discover your path.
  • Mix and match. With more than 60 majors and minors, you might find it hard to choose just one. The good news is you don't have to. Pursue a major and a minor…or a major and two minors…or two majors.
  • Start Sampling. Susquehanna's innovative Central Curriculum requires students to take a diverse set of courses in and outside their majors. Elective classes provide you with additional opportunities for personal exploration.
