To Do: Checklist of Forms & Tasks

After you submit your enrollment deposit, click through the tabs below and reference the Checklist for First-Year Students for additional information. Make sure you check these tabs often as new information and tasks will be added.

Create your Password and Access your Student Email Account

Within a week after paying your enrollment deposit, you will receive an email at the personal email account you supplied with your application, which includes instructions on how to create your password and access your Susquehanna student email account.

Your student email account ( will be the official means of communication from Susquehanna. Be sure to check your student email account regularly for new communications, including important forms you will need to complete.

Login to the mySU Portal

Susquehanna’s internal communications portal is known as mySU. It is the primary vehicle used to disseminate news and messages to the campus community, as well as a collaborative workspace and resource center for information about different offices and departments on campus.

Now is a good time to access the portal ( and begin to familiarize yourself with how it is setup. Plus, you will need to access the portal to complete several of the forms listed on your checklist. You will use the information from your login email referenced above to access this account.

Your Housing Assignment

Wondering where you'll live your first year? First-year students are housed together in three residential communities (Aikens, Reed and Smith Halls) plus you have the option of requesting assignment to one of our living-learning communities.

Please review the first-year student housing preference form FAQ available on mySU. REMEMBER, you must complete the profile form to start the assignment process, so the sooner the better, but no later than May 15! A link to the form was also sent to your SU email account.

The Office of Residence Life has put together a comprehensive list of approved and helpful items for your residence hall room during your first year. Reference this handy list when packing so you don't forget something important!

Your Class Schedule

The Academic Deans will build your first semester class schedule based on what you have indicated as your academic interest on your application. During the spring, you will have an opportunity to update your academic interest, in the event it has changed. A faculty advisor will meet with you during Summer Preview Days to talk to you more about your fall course schedule.

Your Common Reading Assignment

Each year the university selects a theme around which the faculty create a shared academic experience for first-year students called the Common Reading. The 2018-19 theme is Resilience.

At Summer Preview Days, you will receive an anthology of works centered on this theme. You will need to read this collection before you arrive to campus in August. Your homework assignment is to write a true story, a personal tale, of failure and resilience that you will submit on the first day of Perspectives. (Perspectives is a course taken by all first-year students).

Your Math Placement Form

This form will help us to place you in the appropriate mathematics/ analytical thought course, whether during your first semester or later. It is important for some students to get an early start on the analytic requirements of the Central Curriculum and their major.

Complete this form online no later than May 30. A link to the form was also sent to your SU email account.

Other tasks to complete

Your Authorization and Financial Responsibility Form

The Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that generally protects the privacy of a student's educational records, including student financial aid and account information, which cannot be released to anyone without a student’s written consent. This form gives your parents (or other individuals you designate) access to your Susquehanna University financial account and outlines your responsibilities.

Complete this form online via mySU no later than June 3. A link to the form also was sent to your SU email account.

And don’t forget to review the information on Susquehanna’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy and other student financial services information, such as the refund policy, payment plan options and access to the student account payment portal.

Your Student Health Record

Again, your welcome message in your SU email account contains information and a link to the Health Reporting form in mySU.

You must complete and submit this form as soon as possible but no later than July 15. You will be unable to pick up your room key, participate in athletics or begin your semester classes at Susquehanna without a completed form, so please don’t delay!
