Claritas Lecture: Mary Lou Zeeman

Mary Lou Zeeman is the R. Wells Johnson professor and chair of the mathematics department at Bowdoin College. She specializes in dynamical systems and their application to mathematical biology. Her research interests also include population dynamics, neuroendocrinology and hormone oscillations, climate modeling, sustainability and resilience. She is a co-founder of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Activity Group on the Mathematics of Planet Earth, and codirects the Mathematics and Climate Research Network.
She received her Ph.D. in 1989 from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Bowdoin College in 2006, she spent 15 years on the faculty of the University of Texas, San Antonio.
