A Message to Faculty and Staff from President Jonathan Green

March 17, 2020

To all faculty and staff members

Dear Friends:

Thanks to each of you for your continued extra efforts and for letting the world know that Susquehanna is not closed. Although we are operating under dynamic circumstances, the university is open.

Because we care about you and your families, we are emphasizing social distancing. Some faculty and staff already are working remotely. All employees who can, will work from home. Only staff members who are approved by their supervisor and the Vice President for Human Resources to be on campus should work on site. Faculty should get approval from the Provost.

We appreciate our employees who continue working on site, for example, to support the dozens of students who are residing on campus since spring break. In appreciation for your effort and for your added convenience and safety, we are providing free meals at the Hawk’s Nest while you are on duty on campus.

Susquehanna is committed to ensuring students have the opportunity to finish the semester and we continue to make plans for summer activities and the fall semester. If students return to campus before the end of the semester, faculty can choose to continue delivering their classes online or in combined live and online modalities. Decisions about when we resume normal campus operations will be informed by guidance from the CDC and the Commonwealth.

Please continue to follow the COVID-19 web page for the latest updates.

Yours ever,
