Susquehanna University’s entrepreneurship honor society, Sigma Nu Tau, has retained its Gold Member status for the fifth consecutive year from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
The chapter is currently ranked second in the nation out of more than 50 chapters and consistently ranks in the top three among national chapters.
To be eligible for gold status, a chapter must have two designated student members as chapter leaders, host a guest speaker, multiple chapter meetings, entrepreneurial student events and a pitch competition while its members maintain a 3.2 grade point average.
“Our chapter continues to be a shining light in this organization,” said Emma Fleck, professor of entrepreneurship and marketing. “Our students and their continuous strive toward excellence have placed Susquehanna and the Sigmund Weis School of Business on the national stage once again.”
To achieve membership in Susquehanna’s Sigma Nu Tau chapter, students must be of junior standing, major or minor in entrepreneurship and maintain a minimum 3.2 grade point average.
Susquehanna launched its entrepreneurship & corporate innovation major in 2023 and it is one of the fastest growing majors in the university. Students who major in entrepreneurship & corporate innovation develop the skills to start a business enterprise or thrive as an entrepreneurial thinker in an established company.
In addition to the major’s course requirements, students also can engage in one-on-one mentorship with the business school’s entrepreneur in residence; build and launch multiple businesses; participate in consulting projects with small businesses and high growth start-ups; and qualify for startup funding for business development.
