The festival year continues with the second of three concerts commemorating the 200th birthday of Clara Schumann on Sept. 12th. Among the most historically significant women in music, Schumann was one of the great pianists of the 19th century, a distinguished composer and the editor of the first critical edition of the works of her husband, Robert Schumann. The three evenings include music of various composers, including vocal and chamber works of Clara Schumann, performed by faculty, students and guest artists.

There will be a concert featuring the vocal music of Barbara Strozzi, Amy Beach, Fanny Mendelssohn, Lori Laitman, Lili Boulanger and Clara Schumann.
