Susquehanna’s Lore Degenstein Gallery marked its 25th anniversary in April with the exhibition Abstract and Nonrepresentational Painting.
The exhibition was co-curated by gallery director Dan Olivetti and gallery assistant Quinn Evans, a sophomore studio art major from Wrightsville, Pa.
The show featured nine artists, many from Pennsylvania, invited by Olivetti and Evans. Neil Anderson, represented by the Bridgette Mayer Gallery in Philadelphia, joined the show along with Valerie Allen, an artist/curator from Ohio. Other artists included Carol Galligan, Claire Giblin, Susan Gottlieb, Jerome Hershey, Mark Mahosky, John McCluskey and John Myers.
The Lore Degenstein Gallery was established by a gift from the late Charles Degenstein in honor of his wife.
Its mission is to exhibit, interpret, collect and preserve objects of art and material culture through a rich and diverse exhibition program.
Each year four professional exhibitions and one student exhibition are offered. Since its opening, the gallery has contributed to the cultural life of central Pennsylvania with events that are free and open to the public.
