As the winter sports season revved up, the Susquehanna athletic department saw three changes in its full-time staff.
Nairem Moran joined the River Hawk staff in December as director of athletic communications and brings almost 20 years of experience to the position. She came to Susquehanna after 11 years in the same position at her alma mater, St. Mary’s College of Maryland. A 1999 graduate, Moran also served there as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a member of the editorial board for the college magazine, The Mulberry Tree. She has also held assistant sports information director positions at Middlebury College in Vermont, The College of New Jersey and Presbyterian College in South Carolina.
Brandon Timmerman has moved into the role of equipment manager, having spent the last two seasons as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator for that sport. He also served as the interim equipment manager from September until he was permanently hired for the position in December. The Seymour, Tennessee, native graduated from Carson-Newman University in Tennessee in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
David Kitchen ’14 returned to his “home waters” as the head strength and conditioning coach. He was a member of the River Hawk football program in 2010 and 2011, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in global management. The Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania, native came back to SU after an 18-month stint as the assistant director of football strength and conditioning at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
