Brent Kim of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will present a lecture Shifting Toward Plant-centric Diets: A Public Health Priority on Wednesday, April 12, at Susquehanna University.

The lecture will take place at 4:15 p.m. in Faylor Lecture Hall in Fisher Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Kim is a program officer for the Food Production and Public Health Program at the Center for a Livable Future at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

His lecture will highlight the center’s work on industrial food animal production, impacts to workers and rural communities, antibiotic resistance and the urgency of reducing animal product intake to meet climate change mitigation targets.

Kim is a frequent speaker, educator, researcher and writer on these topics, translating the science for policymakers, journalists, educators and other key audiences. His work has been featured by NPR, The Baltimore Sun, Deutsche Welle, Civil Eats, Yoga Journal and other media outlets.

Prior to joining Center for a Livable Future in 2008, Kim earned his master’s degree in global disease epidemiology and control from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
