Matvei Yankelevich, co-founder and co-executive director of Ugly Duckling Presse, will help launch the 2017 edition of Rivercraft by presenting a reading of selected works on April 17. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Isaacs Auditorium, Seibert Hall.

Rivercraft is a student-run, campuswide undergraduate journal that annually releases a collection of poetry, short stories and novellas. It is one of four publications the Writers Institute distributes each year, including Essay and The Susquehanna Review, which are also student-run.

Yankelevich is a poet, novelist, educator, editor and translator. He is the author of Some Worlds for Dr. Vogt (Black Square), the poetry collection Alpha Donut (United Artists), the novella-in-fragments Boris by the Sea (Octopus), and several chapbooks including The Nature Poetry of Matvei Yankelevich (Knock-Off), The Present Work (Palm Press), and Writing in the Margin (Loudmouth Collective). His writing has appeared in magazines such as ActionYes, BOMB Magazine, Boston Review and The Brooklyn Rail.
