Three Susquehanna University students have been chosen to receive a prestigious Cultural Vistas Fellowship, which allows them to complete an eight-week, international internship this summer, all expenses paid.

Katy Grubb, a sophomore graphic design major and German minor from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, will be placed at an internship in Berlin, Germany.

Katherine Moronta, a sophomore finance major from Philadelphia, will be placed at an internship in Argentina.

Malia Simon, a sophomore environmental studies major from Bloomfield, New Mexico, will go to Hong Kong, China.

Though the students have not yet been given specific assignments, all Cultural Vistas internships focus on civic engagement and youth involvement.

The Cultural Vistas program selects up to 15 fellows to take part in this multinational professional development program, which includes eight-week summer internships in Argentina, Germany and China. To extend the impact of their experience, the students are required to carry out an educational or service project upon their return home that helps promote international understanding and exchange.

Grubb, Moronta and Simon are part of the seventh class of Cultural Vistas Fellows. Fellows enrich their academic learning through professional internship and immersion experiences. One cohort of up to four fellows travels to each international destination.
