Shoba Wadhia, director of the Center for Immigrants’ Rights at the Pennsylvania State University, will present the Arlin M. Adams Center for Law and Society Lecture on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in Susquehanna University’s Stretansky Concert Hall in the Cunningham Center for Music and Art. The event is free and open to the public.

Wadhia is the Samuel Weiss faculty scholar and clinical professor of law at Penn State. Considered to be one of the nation’s top scholars on the role of prosecution discretion in immigration law, her research focuses on the intersectionality of race, national security and immigration. Her research has informed scholars, advocates and government officials.

She is the author of Beyond Deportation: The Role of Prosecutorial Discretion in Immigration Cases, published in 2015. Wadhia has also appeared on MSNBC and C-SPAN, and has been quoted or featured by many national and international publications, including but not limited to The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.
