Jeremy Motsko ’17 praises the professors in the earth and environmental sciences department for going the extra mile to help every student succeed.
During his time in the program, Motsko pursued high-level research with Ahmed Lachhab, associate professor of earth and environmental sciences, and that experience along with his classes prepared him for his work as a staff scientist at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services.
“The opportunity to pursue high-level and meaningful senior research with Dr. Lachhab provided a great sense of ownership for the project and was a great experience that gave me a glimpse into what it takes to make a large, complex, multifaceted and long-term project successful,” Motsko says.
At Langan, Motsko’s position combines the skills of an environmental scientist and an environmental engineer, with some of his responsibilities including environmental, natural resources, civil, and geotechnical engineering.
“I am fortunate to work for a company that encourages growth in many directions and supports new learning experiences and expansion into different fields,” Motsko says.
He also credits his outside-the-classroom experiences at Susquehanna—including being a four year varsity men’s soccer player and captain, and as a member of the entrepreneurial service organization Enactus—with having helped to shape his opportunities.
