Kevin Henry is an active trombonist and educator in central PA. He earned a B.M. with honors from the New England Conservatory of Music and M.Ed. from Penn State. He has performed with many organizations throughout the northeast including performances with the Boston, Rhode Island, Virginia, Portland (ME) and Williamsport (PA) symphony orchestras; Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra; Boston Lyric Opera; and, the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. Henry has also performed with many contemporary artists, including Aretha Franklin; Harry Connick, Jr.; Olivia Newton John; Natalie Cole; Gladys Knight and the Pips; The Temptations; and, The Four Tops.
Kevin Henry has been the director of the trombone studio at Susquehanna University since 1995. As host of SU’s Fall Festival O’ Bones, he has collaborated and performed with the U.S. Naval Academy Trombone Quartet, Michael Davis, Matthew Guilford, Matt Niess and the Capitol Bones, Jim McFalls and James Nova. Henry also teaches instrumental music in the Williamsport (PA) Area School District. His arrangements of trombone ensemble music are published by Wehr Music.
Most recently, Kevin Henry has been arranging music for and playing lead trombone in Spencer and the T-Bones, a funk, soul, rock and R&B group that features a horn-section consisting of three trombones and a bari sax. Spencer and the T-Bones can be found on Facebook.
