Susquehanna University President L. Jay Lemons took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday night. Lemons was challenged by the student residence life staff and Juniata College President James Troha. He issued the challenge to Susquehanna’s Vice President for Student Engagement and Success Lisa Scott. Lemons dedicated his challenge to David Dagle '73, an alumnus stricken by the disease. To date, the Ice Bucket Challenge has raised more than $12 million for ALS research. To find out more, visit the ALS Association.
Senior Haley Cheetham, from Cortland, N.Y. was on hand. "It was great to see President Lemons accept the challenge with such enthusiasm. As soon as I saw him bring out the buckets of ice, I knew what he was about to do. He is such a strong advocate for being actively involved with the students on campus, so this challenge seemed right up his alley! He always says he connects with us a great deal since he was once a member of Residence Life himself."
