Susquehanna named top university nationwide by Wall Street Journal

A brick building with tall white columns and large windows is seen behind a path covered with fallen leaves. A red banner hangs between columns, and trees with sparse leaves frame the scene under a blue sky.

Susquehanna University lands in the top 200 colleges and universities in the United States in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2026 ranking.

The WSJ/College Pulse 2026 Best Colleges in the U.S. rankings begin with a list of over 3,000 U.S. institutions — narrowing to the top 584 schools — with Susquehanna coming in at No. 191.

Susquehanna also ranks as a top school in:

  • Value, which measures how long it takes graduates to earn back the cost of their degree.
  • Student experience, which highlights the universities where students report having the best overall college journey.
  • Best salaries, which evaluates colleges based on how much they boost graduates’ salaries compared with the cost of attending.
  • Social mobility, which recognizes universities that enroll many lower-income students and help them graduate affordably with strong salary outcomes.

The 2026 Best Colleges guide is powered by one of the largest ever independent surveys of verified college students and recent graduates in the U.S. — about 120,000. The Wall Street Journal and College Pulse, a college-focused survey and research firm, asked dozens of questions on topics covering student life, career preparation and the quality of classrooms, dining halls and sports facilities.

Susquehanna’s appearance in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2026 ranking comes on the heels of the university’s inclusion in the Top 100 national liberal arts universities by U.S. News & World Report.
