Susquehanna accepts transfer credit from U.S. institutions which are accredited by federally recognized regional accrediting agencies, such as the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Transfer credit from foreign institutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To be acceptable for transfer credit, the grade earned in any course must be at least a C-. Grades from other colleges are not factored into a student's Susquehanna grade point average. Students should arrange to have an official copy of their transcript sent directly to Monica Leitzel, Assistant Registrar, Susquehanna University, 514 University Ave, Selinsgrove, PA 17870-1164.
Courses at other colleges may not carry the same credit as the equivalent course at SU. In such cases, SU will accept for transfer only as much credit as the parent institution has awarded. Courses that are approved for transfer as satisfying a specific central curriculum requirement will fulfill the requirement regardless of the number of credits awarded.
Current students who wish to enroll in summer courses at other colleges must begin the process by picking up an off-campus summer study form from the Registrar's Office on the lower level of Seibert Hall or online: mysu.susqu.edu/REGS/Documents/Summer%20Transfer%20Courses%20Form.pdf.
Students must have their advisor's written approval in order to take coursework at another college, even when a course has already been approved for transfer. Under the university's residency requirement, students must take 24 of their last 32 semester hours, their major capstone course, and any other course a major program may designate at Susquehanna (so anyone approaching his or her senior year needs to be careful about the amount of coursework he or she plans to take at another college over the summer).
Susquehanna has a sizeable list of already approved transfer courses. To see if a course or college in which you are interested has already been approved, select the institution from the list below. Information on the list may or may not contain every course offered by an institution. If the course to be taken is not displayed, then the student must provide a course description to be reviewed and approved by the head of the SU department which offers such courses.
Susquehanna maintains a formal articulation agreement with Harrisburg Area Community College.
Please contact the Registrar's Office at (570) 372-4109 or email@example.com if you have any questions about transferring coursework.
