Dear Students,
Before the fall semester gets farther underway, I want to share information about Susquehanna’s ongoing health and safety protocols in regard to credit-bearing off-campus experiences that are needed to complete degree requirements. The protocol outlined below is in effect for experiences like internships for course credit, student-teaching and observations; cross-cultural programming coordinated through the Global Opportunities program has its own set of requirements.
For the protection of the campus community, all unvaccinated students scheduled for off-campus experiences are required to participate in on-campus experiences only. You must contact your professor supervising your credit-bearing off-campus experience no later than the end of the first week of classes (Friday, Sept. 3) to have your field experience changed. To protect the confidentiality of students, professors do not have access to vaccination status. However, the Health Center will audit the list of students to ensure unvaccinated students are participating in on-campus experiences only.
All students, regardless of vaccination status, may opt to change their off-campus experience to one that is conducted entirely on campus. Contact your course instructor to request a change in your field experience no later than the end of the first week of classes (Friday, Sept. 3).
If you have questions about Susquehanna’s protocols, please respond to this email. I wish you a healthy, safe and productive 2021–22 academic year.
Sincerely,
Dave Ramsaran
