Susquehanna University will host a A Night on Broadway at 7:30 p.m. March 31 in Isaacs Auditorium in Seibert Hall. The cabaret style performance will feature musical performances from various Broadway musicals such as In the Heights, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and The Wiz.
The production is free and open to the public, however donations will be accepted for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a nonprofit organization that provides medication, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and financial assistance to people with HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses within the United States.
Junior Caroline Hunt, a theatre production major from New Gloucester, Maine, is serving as director and stage manager for the production.
“Our choreographer, Caitlin Barnes, finds ways to tell the songs’ stories in a way that’s never been done before, which is important because every song we have has pushed boundaries in the various decades they came out in,” Hunt said.
For questions about admission to the event, patrons can visit the University Box Office in the Degenstein Center Theater lobby or call 570-372-ARTS (2787). The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, between noon and 5 p.m. while university classes are in session.
