Dear SU Community:
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Frances Magee will be joining Susquehanna University as the new Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students on August 23rd.
Dr. Magee brings a wealth of experience with a consistent student-centered focus that has emphasized inclusive and co-curricular approaches to student development.
She comes to Susquehanna from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she served as associate provost and dean of students. At Clark, Dr. Magee led the Division of Student Affairs, which included responsibilities similar to the position she will occupy at Susquehanna. She was a key leader in developing Clark’s Covid-19 response, as well as general campus safety and compliance, bias incident response, travel policy, and pre- and post-critical incident communications.
Other work experience comes from Middlebury College, Columbia University, and New York Institute of Technology. Dr. Magee earned her Doctor of Education degree from Columbia University and her Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Magee to Susquehanna. We look forward to the contributions she will make here.
Yours ever,
Jonathan D. Green
President
