Susquehanna University has been selected by Money magazine as one of its 2019 “Best Colleges for Your Money.”
Susquehanna is one of 68 Pennsylvania colleges named to the national list.
The magazine analyzes the nation’s best-performing colleges to help families understand the value they deliver — a quality education at an affordable price that helps students launch promising careers.
Money’s rankings combine the most accurate pricing estimates available with indicators of alumni financial success, along with an analysis of how much value a college adds when compared to other schools that take in similar students.
After screening out schools with low graduation rates and those facing financial difficulties, Money ranked the remaining 744 colleges on 26 factors in three equally weighted categories: educational quality, affordability and alumni earnings.
Susquehanna’s recognition is based on its graduation rate; the net price of a degree, which is the estimated amount that a student will pay after financial aid is subtracted; the amount of student and parent loans and the borrower’s ability to repay; and estimated earnings of its graduates, among other criteria.
Along with the list, Money has an interactive tool on its website to help students identify colleges that are a good fit based on their individual criteria.
Susquehanna is regularly ranked as one of the best small liberal arts universities in the country. The university has also been included in prestigious rankings from The Princeton Review, Washington Monthly, the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education, Kipplinger’s and Zippia.
