Susquehanna University’s REACH Scholars Program is dedicated to enhancing and supporting your college journey through personalized attention and assistance. It equips you with the necessary tools and opportunities to excel academically and socially at Susquehanna and beyond.
Within this program, you’ll establish connections with a caring community of faculty members, academic coaches and other REACH student scholars. You’ll collaborate closely with your REACH peers, engaging in stimulating intellectual conversations that broaden your horizons. The immersive experience empowers you to cultivate your talents and strengths.

Support for REACH Scholars

Financial Support
Susquehanna University will actively assist you in securing grants and scholarships from federal, state and external financial aid sources. Additionally, the university will allocate institutional grants whenever possible to reduce or eliminate your unmet financial needs.

Assigned Coach
You will be assigned a student development coach who will meet with you regularly.

Academic Support
Susquehanna University’s REACH Scholars Program is committed to helping you achieve two primary goals:
1. Ensure your consistent and satisfactory progress toward the completion of your degree.
2. Maintain your GPA that meets or exceeds the institution’s requirement for good academic standing.

Group Programming
You will benefit from group programming, including academic seminars, financial literacy education, graduate school preparedness, cultural excursions, outdoor activities and wellness workshops.
Act 101 Funded
Reach Scholars Program
for Pennsylvania residents
Susquehanna University’s REACH Scholars Program (Act 101) is funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.
All eligible students should apply to take advantage of the many program benefits. To be eligible for the REACH Scholars Program, a student must meet all the following requirements:
- Reside in Pennsylvania,
- Satisfy the state income eligibility requirements
- Exhibit educational aspirations.

Benefits of Becoming a REACH Scholar
Here’s what the REACH Scholars Program offers:
- A tight-knit community of like-minded peers, fostering collaboration and intellectual growth.
- Workshops and collaborative sessions with faculty, staff, and fellow scholars to help you discover and maximize your potential.
- Bonding sessions like movie nights, painting and game nights
- Support in navigating your academic journey, including financial literacy workshops and guidance on graduate school and career opportunities.
- Ongoing professional development sessions and academic support to ensure your success.
- Exclusive programming, including overnight and day trips, conferences, and field trips, all at no cost to you.
But that’s not all. As a REACH Scholar, you’ll also have access to:
- $100 Emergency Aid: Immediate financial assistance for unforeseen emergencies, excluding tuition and books.
- Lending Library: Save the cost of getting textbooks and borrow the books you need for the semester by filling out a simple form based on your course load.
