Reimagining Spaces for Connection & Growth

At Susquehanna University, we are committed to creating an exceptional environment for learning and living. Our ongoing campus transformation and renovation projects ensure that our facilities continue to meet the evolving needs of our students and campus community.

Current Projects

We’re investing in state-of-the-art facilities and upgraded spaces to support academic excellence, student engagement and campus sustainability. Some of our latest projects include:

Degenstein Campus Center

We’re reimagining the exterior design and interior spaces with a deep appreciation for the river mills that once powered the valley’s growth. This renovation will seamlessly blend historic charm with modern functionality, incorporating natural materials, exposed beams and industrial design elements that pay tribute to the past while creating a space that fosters collaboration and community.

Thanks to the 1994 Charles B. Degenstein Foundation and the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for their generous support of the expansion and renovations of the Degenstein Campus Center.

  • Expanded Mellon Lounge and Starbucks (Fall 2025)
  • New, inviting main entrance (Spring 2026)
  • New 380-person event space (Spring 2026)
  • Renovated Apple Meeting Rooms (Fall 2026)

Makerspace

Opening in fall 2025, the new makerspace will be a creative hub where students and faculty come together to design, prototype and build. With access to tools and technology, it will support everything from scientific research and theatrical props to product design, encouraging bold ideas and hands-on collaboration across campus.

Recently Completed Projects

Susquehanna continues to evolve, with recent improvements enhancing student experiences across campus. Some of our latest transformations include:

Garrett Sports Complex Locker Rooms & Lobby Lighted Sign

Thanks to the generosity of alumni donors, the recently renovated James W. Garrett locker rooms serve as the central hub for River Hawk bonding, preparation and recovery.

Dedicated rooms for each of our NCAA teams enhance the Susquehanna student-athlete experience by fostering camaraderie and providing essential amenities for training and recovery; and larger lockers, enhanced Susquehanna branding, team-specific decor, LED lighting and more instill a sense of pride and identity. Additionally, these high-quality facilities aid recruitment efforts and reflect Susquehanna’s commitment to athletic excellence.
