Giving Societies
FUELING FUTURES TOGETHER
Giving societies celebrate the collective impact of a generous and engaged community whose support empowers Susquehanna University to fulfill its mission: educating students for lives of achievement, leadership and service in a dynamic, diverse and global society.
Through annual gifts and consistent support, our donors create opportunities for students to thrive — academically, personally and professionally. We are proud to recognize our most loyal and visionary supporters through our giving societies. Membership reflects not just generosity, but a deep belief in the power of a Susquehanna education to shape meaningful lives and a better world.
Every gift, at every level, strengthens the Susquehanna experience. For additional giving societies not captured below, click here.

Giving SOcieties at Susquehanna University

Susquehanna Society
The Susquehanna Society honors our most generous supporters who make annual leadership gifts to the university. These donors provide essential resources that fuel scholarships, faculty innovation, student research, and campus improvements. Their commitment sustains the momentum of Susquehanna’s growth and impact. Membership is based on annual giving at a leadership level.

John App Circle
The John App Circle recognizes alumni and friends who have made a future gift to Susquehanna through their estate plans or other planned giving arrangements. Named in honor of longtime trustee and dedicated friend of the university, John App ’54, this society celebrates those whose thoughtful planning today will ensure a strong tomorrow for generations of Susquehannans.

Benjamin Kurtz Society
Named in honor of Susquehanna founding president, the Benjamin Kurtz Society recognizes donors who contribute between $1,000 and $9,999 annually. These generous supporters demonstrate a deep commitment to Susquehanna’s mission, providing vital resources that support scholarships, academic programs, student opportunities and campus initiatives.

1858 Society
In 1858, the university’s founders sparked a philanthropic tradition that continues to thrive today. Members of the 1858 Society carry that legacy forward, collectively providing resources that enhance the Susquehanna experience for every student. From funding research and internship opportunities to supplying passports for study-away programs, gifts at every level create a direct and lasting impact on students’ lives.

Champions for Growth
Susquehanna Champions make the university stronger by exemplifying its traditions of giving, advocacy and spirit. Through their dedication and pride, Champions for Growth cultivate lifelong relationships with their alma mater and help build a thriving culture of success for today’s students. These champions give back in many meaningful ways — by hiring fellow graduates, serving in their communities, attending university events, making gifts to Susquehanna and more.
Celebrating Philanthropy
Every gift tells a story of generosity, impact and belief in Susquehanna’s mission. The annual Honor Roll of Donors recognizes the alumni, families and friends whose support fuels opportunities for our students and shapes Susquehanna’s future.
