Move-In Process for New Students

First-year students will move into one of the following halls: Scholars HouseAikens HallReed HallSmith Hall or Hassinger Hall. Transfer students will be assigned housing based on class year. Move-in follows a staggered schedule (see above).

Upon arrival, vehicles will enter the Move-In Line, where Campus Safety and orientation staff will provide instructions. Students will receive residence hall and orientation materials at Drive-Through Check-In before proceeding to their hall for unloading.

Orientation Leaders and volunteers will assist students and families with move-in from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. After this time, students and families will move in their items on their own. Once unloaded, vehicles will be directed to designated parking, with golf cart shuttles available for returning to residence halls.

Tagging Personal Items

All personal belongings and boxes must be clearly labeled with the following information:

  • Student name
  • Student residence hall name
  • Room number

Many people will help to unload your car. To avoid misplacement, label your belongings and boxes before your arrival on campus.

Move-In Announcements

The campus radio station, WQSU-FM 88.9, will broadcast move-in instructions.

Drivers are advised to tune in for updates and announcements.
