EligibilIty

All incoming Susquehanna University students — residential and commuter — are invited to register for a Pre-Flight program starting in the fall. Participation is free of charge. Some programs have specific eligibility requirements. Please review individual program details and contact the listed coordinators with any questions.

Please note: If you commit to a program but do not attend, you may be responsible for costs incurred on your behalf.

PRe-Flight Program

Program Registration

Students will rank their program preferences during registration. While first choices aren’t guaranteed, we aim to place each student in one of their top three options, based on availability and eligibility.

If a program fills before the deadline, registration will shift to a waitlist. Early registration does not guarantee placement, especially for programs with specific eligibility requirements.

Registration closes on July 7.

All students who register for a Pre-Flight Program will be contacted via their Susquehanna University email by July 18. Program leaders will reach out with details and next steps.

If a student is placed on a waitlist, they will also receive communication with more information about their status and any updates.

The Scholar Early Experience at Susquehanna University (SeeSU) is coordinated through the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI). This precursor to our yearlong peer mentorship program, SUConnects, is open to high-achieving, admitted first-year students. The program fosters cross-cultural engagement, inclusive practices, and intentional community building.

This Pre-Flight Program is packed with experiences such as:

  • In-depth exploration of campus resources.
  • Early introductions to faculty and staff members.
  • Skill-building to aid in the transition to college.
  • Social activities to build community and friendships before the semester begins.

After participating in SeeSU, first-year scholars in the SUConnects Mentorship Program will be prepared and excited for their time as a Susquehanna River Hawk to begin! The SUConnects Mentorship Program pairs experienced, high-achieving, upper-class students with incoming first-year students to build a strong, safe community; a sense of belonging at Susquehanna; and a culture of excellence. SUConnects empowers students to reach their highest potential through academic and personal goals, which results in a meaningful and successful four-year college experience.
