Orientation for New Students & Families: Online Edition!

Following conversations about how to best welcome you to our community safely, we have made the decision to host Orientation for New Students & Families via a remote online format. This Online Orientation will provide you with all the information you would have received in person, and we are planning additional virtual events over the summer for you to ask questions to faculty, staff and current students. We’ll also connect you virtually with your O-Team Leader, so you can get to know them and each other!

No Registration Needed!

Students: To complete your checklist item, log on to the Online Orientation with your SU credentials in your River Hawk Portal.

Parents/FamiliesLog on as a guest to the Online Orientation for New Students if you’d like to review the information as well.

We can’t wait to celebrate your upcoming transition to Susquehanna!

Pre-Flight Programs

As a new student, you are invited to participate in a one of our Pre-Flight Programs, which are a few days prior to the start of Take Flight: Orientation Continues. Though not required, the programs offer a way for students to build leadership skills, make connections and acclimate early to their new home away from home. More information about these opportunities and registration will be shared with students.

Move-In Day & Convocation

Your first day on campus is Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 (unless you are participating in a Pre-Flight Program). Expect to be greeted by members of the O-Team, sporting bright orange shirts. They will be at the ready to help unload your vehicle with precision and style.

On the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, you will be officially welcomed as an official member of the Susquehanna student body during this ceremony. Parents and family are invited to watch the festivities as well!

Take Flight: Orientation Continues & Welcome Week

Take Flight: Orientation Continues is a welcome program that begins Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020. After your family departs, you’ll attend information sessions and social activities, meet faculty and your academic advisor, participate in a day of volunteer service, connect with other students, and more!

Welcome Week starts on your first day of classes, Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, and includes a variety of social and educational activities surrounding your classes during your first week at SU. While open to the whole campus, these events help you get a feel for the opportunities available to you, as well as chances to meet other current students!
