Erin Wetmore ’20
Wetmore, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, returned to Mack Trucks in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Having interned with Mack last summer, Wetmore says she “knew the ropes” but also admits she wasn’t always aware of the many career opportunities a trucking company could offer her.
“I was interested in interning at Mack Trucks because I knew it was a big name in the trucking industry,” Wetmore explained. “I had never imagined that I could end up working in a factory while studying communications.”
Wetmore’s responsibilities include creating content for the plant’s newsletter and Facebook page, as well as helping to plan an open house event for over 2,000 employees.
She said, “My internship this summer allowed me to broaden my horizon and showed me that there are endless opportunities for communications positions out there.”
Elizabeth Hebert ’20
As Wetmore explores a new side of her field, Hebert, of Morristown, New Jersey, is serving as a marketing intern for the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, an organization that has captivated her since childhood. When Hebert was in fifth grade, the theatre hosted a residency at her elementary school, culminating in a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
“I was over the moon because I was Titania, the fairy queen,” Hebert recalled. “That drew me into the world of Shakespeare even further.”
A decade later, Hebert’s internship with the Shakespeare Theatre is giving her a glimpse behind the scenes, and the experience couldn’t be more confirming.
“My future goal is to work on Broadway, no doubt,” Hebert said. “Anywhere I end up, in my heart, I would love to work for a theatre company and market for them.”
Susquehanna alumna Victoria Wolfe ’17, currently serves as the theatre’s director of patron services.
“I would never be where I am today if it was not for the SU theatre department and its wonderful faculty,” remarked Wolfe, who began her undergraduate journey at SU as a music major but soon discovered a passion for arts administration. “I was an intern here in 2015 and have always wanted to share this wonderful company with Susquehanna University.”
